So I'm looking for a third party application or some other method that will allow me to format this hdd to FAT Any help is appreciated. Is this for storage, or an OS?
There are many 3rd party tools that will do this no problem, otherwise as long as you have Vista SP2 you can format the drive as exFAT from the command prompt. Another problem with exFAT is if an older os tries to read it, they won't be able to. As long as you're not still working with outdated operating systems it won't be any problem. Will this work?? Works very well. Thanks for the recommendations. Worked like a charm.
All it well now. I'll look up this thread next time I do a backup as I may not have that HDD available to me next time since it was borrowed.
